I was nervous too, and apparently rightfully so. I would say try with the hairdryer first and see if that can get the goo soft enough. We sat the lense assembly on top of teh open oven door and all, not inside on a rack or anything, and after only 10 mins it had goten hot enough to discolor the clear plastic white.... and we pushed in one spot with our fingers trying to pry them apart. Go SLOW and keep taking it out and see if you can start to get it open. I might also suggest a lower temp as we followed the tech article and still got into trouble....you can always turn up the heat if needed. Mike
